European Rugby Challenge Cup 2018

against Cardiff Blues will be screened live by BT Sport and Sky Sports on Friday evening.

The match, refereed by Jerome Garcès, will be shown live on BT Sport 2 from 7.15pm, and Sky Sports Action from 7.30pm, with kick-off at 8pm.

The culmination of a season’s efforts for two of the most enterprising sides in European rugby sees the pair meet in a showpiece Final at the San Mames Stadium in Bilbao.

Gloucester’s appearance in the Final continues the West Country side’s excellent pedigree in the competition that saw them reach the Final last season and win the competition in 2014-15.

Johan Ackermann’s side have been in stellar European form all season long, earning four wins in the pool stages before beating Connacht and Aviva Premiership Rugby semi-finalists Newcastle Falcons on the way to Friday’s final.

In Cardiff Blues though they come up against a side who started the season slowly but who are now in excellent form, having beaten Edinburgh Rugby and Pau in the knockout stages of the Challenge Cup.

Gloucester are coming off the back of a 62-12 defeat to Saracens but will no need no extra motivation for this one – buoyed by qualification for the European Champions Cup next season.
